The jeans hanging in my closet are starting to intimidate me. They all look so small!!

First Ultrasound
Baby E,
What a big day this was! I'm going to try and re-live it one more time for you to hear and then I am going to b.e.d. I am exhausted from being so busy all day, the big appointment this morning and telling people the big news!
Let me get some good music going...okay better.
Your dad and I got up pretty darn early and drove to the hospital, Clarian North, where you will be delivered. We were super early but they let us check in and get started early.
We started with the Ultrasound. Ouch. Nobody told me it was an internal ultrasound. :-/ That's all I will say about that. It was totally worth it though. We got the most awesome picture of you! We saw your heart flutter and head it beat. Most amazing thing ever. Your dad held me head the entire time so I could watch the screen to see you. Not sure anything has ever been as cool as seeing you up there. Suddenly, everything felt more real. More solid. More exciting. There you were, up on the screen, inside of me! Holy cow!
Smile!!
The first thing I asked the lady doing the ultrasound was if she saw just one baby! I was so scared there would be two! Yikes! She laughed and said I had to give her a second and that she was just getting started. She said you had a great, strong heatbeat at 164 bpm. You are almost 2 cm long. So so tiny. It's hard to believe how much you will be growing in the next 7 months. Leaps and bounds.
We had an appointment with the financial team after that. Everything is still really fuzzy and I am sure it will be until the end. They were only able to tell me about the costs of my actual doctor, not the fees associated with the anesthesiologist, pediatrician or the actual hospital stays. I did get the general idea though. Expensive. :) Once again, totally worth every penny of it.
We chatted with the nurse practitioner. She asked us tons of questions about family history, our history and so on. She took my vitals and did a pelvic exam. 108/60 and 90 pulse. I've lost one pound but she said not to worry, totally normal. She gave me an entire bag full of handouts, books, magazines, vitamins, and coupons. She answered all of questions with ease. She was great! I also got the note that I need to start prenatal exercise classes and yoga at the church. Yay!
Your dad got the shakes when I got my flu shot done. He HATES needles. Sweats just watching me get one. Little does he know, he will be getting one soon. Right dad?? He also has to get vaccinated again whoopin' cough and a few other things. He is not going to be a happy camper but I-Am-Sure-He-Will-Do-It-For-You. Right dad??...((nudge, nudge))
Right after that appointment we went back to the ultrasound office and had my blood drawn and did a urine sample. At that point, I was trying to think if there was any other tests that they could possibly do! Hopefully those results will come back soon. They took three vials. Super easy process.
Here is a wonderful picture of your dad holding all of the paperwork that they kept handing me. It went from my hand to his. :) He was a trooper the whole time. We weren't allowed to take pictures, video or use our cell phones in the rooms or during the ultrasound. I snuck this one in right before we left.
Jason drove me to Paradise Bakery where I met up with my mom for lunch while he continued on to work. We had a great lunch and then started our journey south to Greenwood. We have been planning this trip since we started trying for you. Buybuy Baby! Remember that stroller I was talking about??? I saved up my pennies. I ordered it today!! Super super excited. It's going to be transferred in from a store in New Jersey. It's just too cool to keep in stock here. :)
Your Grandma bought you a super cute hat for winter that looks so warm. I want one! We tried out the gliders and bought some hangers. She couldn't stop talking about you. I would have to tell her to stop talking because I was about to call someone. She would be quiet for about 10 seconds and then something would pop into her head about that baby and she would start talking again! So excited!
I just love that store! Word on the street is that they are opening one up in Castleton but it won't be open until this time next year. It will still be handy!
E, I don't think you will understand until you get pregnant or your wife gets pregnant (I'm about to sound like my mom here...yikes) but this is soooo cool! There is nothing like it. Really. I'm thrilled, excited, and exstatic. It's such a fullfilling joy. It's not fleeting like the joy you get when you buy a pair of shoes or a purse that you have had your eye on. It's life changing. It's forever. It lasts and lasts. Such a wonderful, wonerful joy.
You're big revealing day is December 15th. Making the paper chain as we speak. :) 8:00 in the morning!

Update
Baby E,
The only followers of your blog thus far are your Grandparents. Surprised? Don't be. They love you a lot. :)
Not much has been going on. No news is good news, right?
I have been feeling a little off. Again, nothing too bad. I just would rather curl up with a book all day than clean, do laundry, go to work, water the plants etc. I'm giving in a little but not too much. I'm hoping for that energy turn around in the second trimester (which is only 4 weeks away! holy cow!).
I have a rough few days at work coming up (Monday and Tuesday). There are a lot of banquets, so I have a lot of prep. With not feeling so great recently, I am not looking forward to it.
You're dad is getting a little bit more excited about you every day. The other day he said that he got excited for the first real time when he realized that he will be buying a football for you so you too can play catch (assuming you are Enzo and not Ella). :) He also wrote me a note in his lunchbox that said that we get to hear your heartbeat in five days. He asked me if I was excited. :) I think he is. I drug him in the Baby Gap today at Keystone Mall. He found some superhero shirts on the way out and said "I wonder what Baby E's favorite super hero will be?!" He is dreaming!
I'm dreaming like mad too, almost too much sometimes. You create some pretty odd ones in my head. I picture you sitting there with your Picasso palette painting scenes in my head all night. :)
Last night I kept waking up because of my crazy dreams, I had to pee, or I was sweating like crazy! Me being hot...yeah...never happens. Needless to say, I slept until noon and I feel like I'm ready for another nap right now.
When we were in Philadelphia, we went to a casino called the Trump Casino. We spent 5 dollars and I played the slot machines. I won 90 dollars! I had found an umbrella stroller on the Friday before when I was wandering around while Jase was working. I fell in love with it. After we got back to your dads work, I took my 90 dollar winnings and bought you your first set of wheels. Pretty sweet, eh? It looks kind of lonely in your room, not for long!
Speaking of your nursery...ha! Let's talk about it. It's not looking pretty. I realize I have pretty much forever to get it ready (well 7 months) but at this rate, I feel like it could take 7 years. Paint...sheesh. I never had such a problem with the other rooms in the house. Too dark, too light, too yellow, too bright, too purple, too dim...I find every excuse in the book to not like a color. I'm pretty set on grey right now. Nothing fancy. I want something simple. Here is what we have now...yikes.
What's that you say, clothes at the bottom?? Already?? Surely you know your mom...you will learn if not. :) I have three rows set up. Girls on the far right, boys in the middle and unisex on the left. They are set up in piles based on size. Newborn, 0-3, 3-6 etc. Get excited! We might just go bankrupt when I find out if you are Ella or Enzo. :) No, I have to be good.
I have also been stocking up on diapers since we started trying for you back in April. Crazy right? I don't think so! I have a pretty good stock of Pampers Swaddlers Newborn, 1, and I am working on size 2. Of course, what I think of as a pretty good stock, a seasoned mom would probably laugh at. :) I think I have 10 packs of each. Roughly 38 a pack. That's 380 in case you haven't learned multiplication yet. :) I'm sure that's enough for newborn but I know I will need more for 1 and 2. The diapers are in the bins and there are a few other things for you on top of the bins and next to them.
Did you like your tour de nurseryo? Yeah, me either. It needs work.
Dad approved of your crib today in the store. He confirmed that it was sturdy enough. :)
We are off to go watch the ND and Michigan game at our neighbors house. She is pregnant too. 23 weeks I think. She is having a little boy. I bet you two will be great friends!
Your first appointment is this coming Wednesday the 22nd. Woohoo! I'm excited!
Chat later!

Philadelphia
Ahhh! I'm starving!!!! Jason and I are in Philadelphia from today until next Wednesday. We are going to have a fantastic time touring downtown Philly and then going to Margate for the weekend to see the beach. It's going to be awesome. The weather is perfect.
Our flight got off to a terrible start. Eck. We were supposed to meet a taxi at 5am at our house. It never came. We got in our car at 5:15 and drove half way there where we got stuck in traffic at a dead stop for 30 minutes. Blahh...it was not fun. We were already running late and pushing it. We got to the airport. Speed walked in. The self check in kiosk said that we were too late to check any bags. We asked the lady and she actually said that the piolets were stuck in traffic so the plane was leaving late. Woohoo! We checked our bag and hustled to the gate. We finally made it! Thank goodness! Hopefully the rest of the trip doesn't go like that.
I have something to admit. People are frustrating me. I know they mean well but they keep saying things along the line of that I am not that pregnant and anything could happen at 7 weeks. I guess it frustrates me because obviously I don't want anything to happen but more importantly. I feel VERY pregnant now. I feel like it's easy for people to say that because I am not showing and it's hard for them to actually picture it and believe it more or less. I don't know. I guess that will pass when I get farther along and I start showing. It's just kind of an awful thing to say I think. Maybe I am just being super sensitive. Who knows...oh well!
I am super excited though! I think I am going to walk across the street after lunch today and see if I can find a cute thing or two for you at Marshalls. I love shopping for you! Even if I have no clue what sex you are going to be. More reason to buy one in each color, right?? :-)
My allergies have been going bonkers. I'm not really sure if it's because of fall allergies or if they are hyper senstive because of you. I read today that studies have been showing that decongestants (OTC) have been linked to lower chances of a preterm delivery. Can you believe that? Bring the decongestants on!!
I will write all about our trip to you later after it all happens. :)

Stratman Revealing
Holy cow little E...if I ever felt it was hard to tell you were there that all went away! I think I jinxed myself. Oh well, it's all worth it.
Yesterday I took a small nap around four pm. When I woke up, I felt like I had the flu all of the sudden. My arms and hands ached. I felt like I was going to throw up. It lasted about an hour. The next day, today, I got up around 9. I felt fine while I was getting ready but as soon as I started moving around I felt so so sick. I went outside and laid in the hammock (we were at Jasons families house) and took a nap. After I slept and got up and moved around a bit I felt better. The joy! :)
Let me tell you the more fun things about the weekend! Jason and I flew into Charlotte on Friday. We got in right in time for dinner. As we were coming home from dinner Jill asked me if there was any "News"? I said "Ohh no not yet. Plenty of period news!" :) I actually lied pretty well. I'm usually downright horrible at lying. We continued on the conversation talking about my possible due dates and how that would work out with vacation if I got pregnant the next month, or the next, or the next...etc. I played along quite well.
Later that night Jason and I went to Target to get some "Things" that he forgot at home. We meandered around a while looking for something that would spark an idea about how to tell them. I found nipples. Yes nipples. I thought...nipples, cupcakes...perfect!!!! Jason and I bought 8 nipples (the kind I want for you of course) and checked out. We then went to Harris Teeter and bought a dozen cupcakes. That was a sad moment for me because I don't BUY cupcakes! I MAKE cupcakes!!! I am sure you will have plenty of them in your time. :)
Jason insisted that no one would "get" the whole nipple thing. I was thinking in my head (and out loud) "REALLLY??" I mean, who gets cupcakes with nipples on them. Really? So he bought the premade cake decorating candy. We got back home, stuffed the cupcakes in a bag and swiftly ran upstairs. Jason went in first to act as a distraction. If someone stopped us, he would talk to them while I ran with the cupcakes. We opened them up, decorated them, and started to walk downstairs. The video shows it from here but basically Jill was the only one in the kitchen (probably the ONLY time that happened the whole weekend!) She got it right away and was so surprised!! It was great! She called all the other ones in by saying that Jason and I brought a snack. I think everyone was a little confused. They thought that something might have happened to GiGi because Jill had tears in her eyes. They came in and Shannon got it right away but waited for everyone else to get it. I think they were in shock really. I'll let you decide. :)
<3
It was fun! We went on a mini shopping spree for you buying equal male/female outfits. :) It was fun. It's so neat to hold those little outfits and imagine that one day, you will be inside of them. Can't wait to get started on the nursery. I have the colors picked out. I think...:)
Well, I hope you have enjoyed reading about your big revealings. I don't think there is anything else big to tell you.

Grandpa Dean
Jason finally worked up the courage to call your Grandpa Dean!! Yay! :) Jason had an entire conversation with him and then told him that he was going to be a Grandpa in the very end! He was so so so so so so so excited!
I guess I don't sound too excited at the end of the video but I am!! I have been fighting really really awful, horrible allergies. I think I sneezed 50 times before Jason called him. It has been a wee bit crazy. Hopefully they will die down soon. No issues so far with symptoms! Yay! Let's keep it that way! I'm off to shower. We leave Indy for Charlotte around 3:30.
